Samsung has added a new feature to its Galaxy smartphones that lets users schedule when Dark Mode turns on and off. This update is part of the latest software release for Samsung devices running One UI 6.1. Users can now set specific times for Dark Mode to activate automatically based on their daily routines.

The feature gives people more control over their screen appearance without needing to change settings manually each time. You can choose to turn Dark Mode on at sunset and off at sunrise, or pick your own custom hours. This helps reduce eye strain in low-light environments and may also help save battery life on OLED screens.

To use the scheduling option, go to Settings, then Display, and tap on Dark Mode. From there, select “Turn on as scheduled” and choose your preferred timing. The update is rolling out now to compatible Galaxy phones, including recent models like the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, and select Galaxy A devices.

Samsung says this addition responds to user feedback asking for more flexibility with display settings. Many people already use Dark Mode regularly, but having to toggle it on and off each day was seen as inconvenient. With automatic scheduling, the phone handles the switch without any extra steps from the user.

The company continues to refine its software experience by focusing on small but meaningful improvements. This Dark Mode scheduler joins other recent updates aimed at personalization and ease of use. Samsung expects the feature to be available on most supported devices by the end of the month. Users will receive a notification when the update is ready to install on their phone.
