BPO Voice: Business Process Outsourcing, Call Center Outsourcing
Call Center Services, Outsourcing Services, Outsourcing Projects
India remains to be one of the most favored outsourcing destinations with a major growth in the Call Center business. With development in telecom and technology sectors, India has excelled in the in the calling business tremendously. By and large, call center jobs are quite popular in the country too as the growth and learning opportunities are synchronized with the money. However, there is a section in youth today who love to hate these call center jobs and this section is increasing dramatically. We have tried to sum up some of the reasons behind this hatred for call center jobs.
Awkward Timings
When a family is having a sound sleep after the dinner in India, a call center employee is usually trying to convince someone over the phone. It disturbs the whole biological sleeping process of the body and creates health issues for many. With so many targets, employees have to struggle very hard in most of the companies to even survive. Moreover, the shifts also keep changing creating a problem to fit into the schedule so frequently.
Ups and Downs
Although career in any industry is not stable, call center jobs are specifically a roller coaster ride. Employees have to battle each day to catch up with the targets. There are some horrible days when sales are difficult to generate and one can hardly find anyone who would listen. This creates a lot of frustration especially after a very good day at work. Everything doesn’t depend on performance and one just has to accept a bad day.
Irritating Team leaders and Quality Analysts
Most of the call center employees even complain about incompetent team leaders who are always yelling in their bid to push harder for the target. Some of the team leaders demand such things that they can also not achieve. Actually due to the absence of any contract or agreement terms to bind an employee, call centres have to promote people faster to keep them interested and this leads to promotion of incompetent people many times.
Lack of Job Satisfaction
With an average working shift of around 8 hours, employees hardly get time to talk to each other. Moreover, the working conditions at some of the call centres in India are pathetic to say the least. Due to competition and cost reduction, there is hardly any hygiene or environment that keeps an employee happy. In fact is some centers, the floors are dirty, trash cans are over flowing with disposable glasses and cubicles are hardly cleaned (if you have one).
Monotony
If you are an artist at heart, survival in call center is impossible. The days can seem repetitive and monotonous with same work every day. It is surely very difficult to call, call, call and call each and every day of the week looking for some incentives over the salary.
Although most of the things depend on the company which you are working for, by and large youth today has some perceptions on the call center jobs. But with an initial career launch call center jobs can provide a solid career and prove to be a key to get promoted at administrative levels too.
