Starting today is one of the key events of the shared services and outsourcing industry - 9th Annual Shared Services and Outsourcing Week 2009

9th Annual Shared Services and Outsourcing Week 2009 is the European arm of a global series of regional flagship events designed to bring together everybody who’s anybody in the combined worlds of captive shared services and outsourcing. SSOW is the largest gathering of Shared Services professionals in Europe and home to the annual Shared Services Excellence Awards.

The global awards series, now in it’s 6th year, operates across 4 geographies annually (Americas, EMEA, Asia, ANZ), and the winners announced at the association’s flagship meeting (Shared Services & Outsourcing Week) for each region. The winners of the EMEA Chapter will be announced at the gala awards ceremony in Budapest on May 12th.

For the first time this year, representatives from across shared services and sourcing were able to nominate their peers for the Awards as well as applying directly themselves. The new process this year has been governed in this manner to ensure the continued recognition of excellence by those most qualified to recognise it.

Contribution to Industry Thought Leader
In a nod to the unique nature of the Thought Leader category, the only category to be awarded to an individual rather than organisation, no shortlist will be announced here.

The judges have selected an individual to honour for outstanding contribution to the industry and thought leadership. This individual will be awarded the highest personal accolade in the industry and named SSON’s Thought Leader of the Year 2009 (EMEA).

Apart from the awards the delegates would be discussing several important themes like HR Transformation, Talent Management, Sourcing, Finance Transformation, Mid Market/Scalability, Globalized & Multi-Functional etc.
