Saw this in ET, thought about sharing it...
Since August 2007, employees of LogicaCMG India have been maintaining hourly logs of their activities at work. This includes the nature of work, the status of the work, tasks completed, meetings attended; indeed, just about everything, including the time spent at the cafeteria. Some time back I asked one of my close friend, why do you like social networking sites. He said quite spontaneously just like that. I grilled him some more and his reply was to meet my old friends over there or join groups of interested communities…. And again just like that. Blame it on the call center industry but here the general perception is, by the time it is 3-4 years you should have one promotion & should be on the verge of the second one!
