Wrong ways of Business Procurement

Hello folks,

Greetings!!! So i am back again with some new topic which is normally not discussed on Forum or anywhere else. May be people don't want to share their successful tactics. However i don't mind spending few minutes after writing this post and disclose the main tactics for business development or procurement.

Normally i have seen people on this forum shouts about good non-voice process or some good process. Sometimes i think the people who post such project are fake but the people who also shout about fake non-voice project are also fake people. Because my question if you don't have non-voice process which you are actually looking for your center, Than what are you doing to survive???... I have been member of this Social Media from almost last 6 months... The old member are there at same position looking for non-voice process and new members join these social networking site and immediately join the Association of "No Non-Voice Process" and starts shouting on Non-voice process.

Many people talk a lot about how to prevent non-voice process from the market or fraudsters from the industry etc etc. Blah Blah Blah.

The problem is not the Industry, The problem is not these fake non-voice process or the problem is not even the fake people. The problem is you tolerate such people. Sometimes i feel that the people who are actually saying that they have been victim of this fake non-voice process are also one among all fraudster... Just trying manipulate... Because serious businessman don't shout or blame on industry, however they always try to find new ways of getting good business. If they don't find such way they would simply change the Industry or would join the the company who are successful in the Industry....

To be honest there are many tactics for business development but i won't share it in positive way rather i would interested in showing negative signs.

Normally the people who are posting the project and claims that they have this or they have that project etc always post their project on website were project posting is free or its free to enter the forum. However there are bunch of websites where client has to pay certain fees to post their project as well as service provider also need to pay some fees for it. The best part of such website is that consultant and people who claims that they have non-voice project do not get entry on such website. Actually fake people would never post such project there because it cost money.... Now these consultant and fake people who don't have few dollars to have their own website or professional email address and talk about millions of dollar project. Give me break....

Many of us know that there are many sites available on which after having paid registration we can bid on the projects and procure business. Yes let me add here those projects are not much big in size but at least they are not fake and we got paid. If you are really good and understand the term business development you can simply bid on projects and can procure few business from good client and can feed your center and employees with some genuine work. Also if you are really hardworking and dedicated person, who always search one big break or opportunity than i guess you keep have to work hard after business development and after the client you get from the business development. If in past if you have provide best in class service to any of your client no matter the project was small in size than i am sure that client will come back to you again and again and would discuss many other project which can be explored with your company.

Secondly, Your client is the best reference and source of other client. I mean to say if any of your client had good experienced working with your organization than you can ask them if he have any further project or campaign which he would like your org. to do or you can ask him to refer your business in his business circle or to his friends. Always if you really get business through your previous client than always compensate the work of your previous client. Because business is after all a business.

Third thing which is most important and my favorite is Business Process Analysis or Research. As per me this is the best way to get new client. Any client would like to outsource if you really know and understand his business process. Most of the time client don't go for outsourcing his business process to any offshore center because of few reason like Data Security, Leakage, Improper Quality, Lack of business process understanding and most important once he outsource his process to any offshore center than its not easy to take back the process from center to in-house. Now this reason can avoided by client only if you are a reliable organization and that is possible only if you are in this business from long time. As we all know that small and mid-sized centers are closing on high rate, the reliability what a client is always looking for can't be developed and finally the center loses the project. However client cannot outsource it to any other big company because for that first of all his own business should be enough big to match that level where he can outsource that much work to offshore center.

you are absolutely correct, Sir, good businessman come out the shell of bad and fake people and one thing is for sure no one can cheat you until you let them do it, people just get tempted by the billing amount they see on paper and get carried away, before getting into any contract please make sure you chek every possibility of a Fraud. I am A Project Consultant and Bpo owners always complain of fake processes, My clients always do so, many a times it comes very frustating on our part, but then its good they exactly know what they are getting and what we are giving , we make them talk to clients directly and go to the very extent of proving our truthfulnes.at the end of the day that gives satisfaction.

we before going for any project chek on our part only whether there is any case of fraud ,and when we see there is none then only we proceed, thats the way we work,with complete integrity , cos we want to grow with this industry and how can people cheat some one and again go to some one else for the same project and cheat them again, if we have a fraction of a doubt we dont go for any such kind of projects and that is what we think has really helped us grow in this industry cos you can never cheat and grow in this industry for a long time . As much as I agree with most of what you said, I disagree with just one point. I feel we should let others know when there are fake processes doing the rounds as it helps weed out the bad elements. Of course I am surprised when we fall for some of the fake processes, but just cause someone is not business savvy does not give anyone else the right to steal from him/ her. But yes, I do agree, life is not so easy, that you pay 20 lakhs and business will come to you. If only life was so easy, life would have been a bed of roses.

Thanks for your reply. I saw that on one point you disagree. However its very easy for me to convince you that point because my answer have logic and common sense. Let me explain you some of experience.

The people who are posting fake process or project on forum and on internet are the group which fall between the age limit of 20 to 30 years. So number one they are not matured people. Most of them are Call Center Agents.

A real businessman would never give huge amount of money to unknown person for procuring business. There are many BPO India who started with small ground and currently doing good business, Those people are enough matured, experienced and have seen the world and know the reality. Now lets use some logic after this business. Let say XYZ person has posted fake project on forum with contact number and email address. If i am interested than i would call him or i would email him. Right?. After initial communication XYZ person would provide me with project details and the upfront what i need to pay him. Of course that upfront would not 5K or 10K it would be in 100K or 200K. Now when i am getting ready to pay upfront of 100K to 200K to an unknown person than i would not mind in spending few hundred money to buy one train ticket to visit him face to face. At least before paying consultancy fees or upfront fees of big amount, i would visit him or her if he reside within the country.

Most important point, The person who is involved in BPO business would at least have sort of website or something which can clearly display his identity. I would not have my company's website if i am into different industry like Trading, finance, marketing, etc. Because those industry normally doesn't have website initially because they deal in Local. But when it comes to IT business we all understand that computer and internet is our life partner. So website is must. Another thing if any center is cheated or have been victim of any fraud or scam still they can't do anything with that fraudster because they themselves are not legal, I mean to say their own center are not legal or registered with DOT or STPI. There are many ways to prevent scam from market, its very simple. If anybody has posted details of the project on his own website. You can simply consult a lawyer who is dealing cyber crime. Now the website of the fraudster would become evidence. You can also take him to court and now-a-days the decisions are also given faster from court. So its not something which will continue for years and years.

However to prove somebody illegal or fraudster, You need to be Legal yourself.

Nothing else to do, but if people stop paying upfront to these fraudster than also it would create great impact. These fraudster are investing their time after posting such project however they just few people from whom he can 100K or 200K. If he gets even 1 fool ready to pay upfront. He is done. Why these fraudster are not real businessman or brain. They just think one thing in life than once he will get 100K or 200K upfront, he will be able to survive at least for 1 year without doing any job. So again after 1 year he will come on forum would post the projects with different and different phone number.

We can't help these people - the one who give upfront and the one who charge the upfront. Cause both group of people are looking for money without hard work.

I really don't know that people are so dumb who get ready to give money for fake process. Very simple if you get project easily by giving few thousands than what else remain in the business which we can say its tuff? I mean to say beside this non-voice project, the one just need to have basic setup of computers and few staff and that can be recruited easily for this kind of project cause they don't need to be good in English. Rest nothing is tuff. In business nothing happens easily or without hard work and knowledge.

Again agree with most of what you said, but not with 2 points. A centre having DOT or STPI does not make them fake, as long as they not stating they have it while they do not. There is room for small centres who cater to clients who do not need either of the two.
And if a person has taken the trouble to find out about a fake process, in whichever fashion I see no reason why they should not update others. I am unable to see your reason for not warning others. I would as I do not want any one else wasting their time, like I would inform people if there is a good process and expect people to know about it.

I am totally agreed with Mr. Dave Bernardone and I feel that this is the main fault of the center owner because cheater is clear with his vision and task so he come in the industry or forum with the same task "To Cheat People And Make Money", but what about the Center owner, is he clear what he is doing? He wants to start BPO center just beacuse of the big money with no Action Business Plan,No Basic Knowledge of the Industry. How many from them even know the full form of STPI or even know that they have their offices in almost all B class cities near them (All though there is no need of STPI's registration for every project). Centers are like an open invitation to the tigers and tell them to hunt me for your food.

It is their money, they should or I would say they must deal carefully,it's their own duty. There are so many forum's on which Direct clients are also available but beacuse they just pay a lower payout due to their small requirements, compare to the picture they have seen by Cheaters of big money and to be rich in one month. So, centers never dealt with them directly.

One thing I tell you that, we all are now having a habit of consultants/mediators everywhere to make everything easy. Want to worship god, call Pujari/Priest/Maulla. Want to go heaven contact so called gurus,why? does god denied you to talk with him directly or just it is difficult to find him? The same thing is here, it is difficult to find direct client and no one wants to do hard work for that.

I am a center owner as well as a consualtant, but before giving or suggesting process to someone, I by myself check it with every aspects and if it satisfy me than and than I sell it to others, that's why right niw I am having only one project to offer in non-voice and one in voice, but still I am happy because I know whatever I am doing is giving me a sonud sleep everynight without any panic.

But, in one point I am agreed with Rituraj, due to any reason if someone has been cheated and he is shouting in forums like this, than he doing one good thing, making people aware from them,so that no other fish can be trap in that Fishnet.

Still, best of luck to all the cheaters, beacuse in a industry like this, there is always anyone standing to be victim from them.
