A friend of mine is struggling to get some good inbound projects.. Many in the industry suggests that he needs to run a few outbound processes first and then think about getting some inbound to work upon.the non voice projects don't seem to be reliable.. Any other ideas .. I guess we all who set up a call-center, always struggle in getting our first client isn't it?

I am not sure who asked this before however here is what they got - a few questions in return

Your first client will not mind asking -

Why your call centre is going to succeed when many others fail ?

What experience you have of running a call centre, and why you're going to be able to hit the ground running instead of using my campaign to cut your teeth?

Why I want to put my work with you?


The same old pitch of that we help you save money etc. etc. may not the break the ice.. it has to be somewhat what different.. the world is full of centers who can help me save money and let me focus on my core job .. but the question remains- Why YOU ?
Tough one to answer and convince someone who has lots of option to select a newbie as his outsourced partner...
Thanks for your response. Its tough to get the first client but the that has been the story for all the beginners..
IMHO, companies get convince to try those things which pose a lesser risk.. like outbound campaign where in they have nothing to loose..those are performance based campaigns ..Here is what i gathered from the net

"New call centers need to cut their teeth doing outbound performance based campaigns. The client is assuming a huge risk by employing an unproven center, so the center needs to assume the risk of a performance based campaign to meet them halfway. If you are very lucky you may get a campaign that supplies you with leads, otherwise you need to buy your own lists. If not you should buy your own and be sure and scrub them.

After you have proven yourself by doing a good job on an outbound campaign you may be eligible for something more solid, at this point the client is placing a considerable amount of trust in you, by making you a part of his business process and there is just no way this is going to happen without a proven track record. "

Inbound Processes are known to be much secure and safe , when compared to Outbound. However, getting even a 10seater Inbound process is not a joke. The Client needs to be heavily influenced by us in order for him to trust us for his Process going on ease. Infact , it requires a strong reputation as well. For instance , we see Infosys, Wipro, Mphasis and other MNC's having big-shot processes. The reason they get such business is because of their 15-20 yrs of struggle in building a reputation in their respective domains.

Similarly , even i am in this industry since the last 3 yrs and have even run a Inbound Process. However, once cannot always be sure of the security on the monetary part ! Its dicey ... in fact Business itself is a Gamble !
