Gone are the days when call center has to invest huge amount in Predictive Dialer, Recording systems, CRM etc. I still remembered that to install the predictive dialer in any call center needs at least 3 to 4 Hi-tech servers and twelve workstations to start up with dialing and if someday they look forward to upgrade the capacity by two times more though they have to multiply the client workstations by Twelve, Because they cannot increase capacity by one or two workstation as no Predictive Dialer was having facility to increase its capacity by one or two client workstation. I still remembered people use to think thousand times about expensive technology and other infrastructure cost before opening a call center or BPO center. In fact to open a call center was known as a tuff job. Not only call center technology like predictive dialer, Audio Codec, CRM etc use to be expensive, Even internet connection was also expensive in compare today’s technology and I don’t know whether ISP use to give 100% uptime guarantee but yes downtime of ISP’s server was guaranteed once in a week. Even after paying lots of bucks.
After the hard work of year and years of Great IT People (I don’t who were they who introduced Broadband and Web-based Predictive Dialers). Today we are living in an Era where to open a call center is not a tuff job like we use to think before. Technology in call center industry has taken a drastic turn in its way and now to open and to operate a call center anywhere in this world has become easier. Yes I mean to say with the help of Broadband and Web-based dialer has proved that a person sitting in United States can operate a call center in India or in any part of world. An entrepreneur can get call center agent working for him from Delhi no matter his Company’s headquarter is located in Mumbai. Technology has not made chaos only in Call Center but it has proved to be boon in many other ways too. Now-a-days an entrepreneur is becoming more customer service oriented, No matter whether he has a small size business or mid-size business. The change in call center technology has proved that quality customer support or customer service is not only the game of Giant Corporate. In fact a small business owner can also provide dedicated customer support and service by hiring a talent and making him work remotely in offshore country. In fact Call center technology has not only cut-off the precious time or gap of territories but it has also cut-off the prices. Now days installing predictive dialers or installing CRM is not that expensive which it use to be. In fact the call center suites are getting free on internet. Wow that’s amazing! Right? But that’s the fact, with the help of open-sources now anyone can get complete call center suite at no cost and anyone can get good internet speed by just paying few hundred bucks and anyone can get quality voice communication at another few hundred bucks.
